airbag, belt tensioner and battery isolator units
(pyrotechnic components)

Disconnect battery
→ Electrical system; Rep. gr.27. |

| Continued for all vehicles |

Remove bench seat
→ Chapter. |

Fold down rear seat backrest. |
| – |
Detach retaining lug -3- from body. |

Pull side padding with retaining brackets -2-
and -4- upwards. |
| Vehicles with side airbag |

Disconnect wire for side airbag on side padding. |
| Install in reverse order, but note the following: |

| Ensure that nobody is in vehicle. |

Connect vehicle battery

| If airbag warning lamp -K75- indicates a fault following
installation, event memory must be read, deleted and then read

How do I remove the Golf Mk7 rear seat side padding?
On cars with side airbag: follow pyrotechnic safety. Unbolt with -V.A.G 1410-, unclip the mounting grommet and remove the padding from the bolster.

2 commercially available screwdrivers with a blade height of
0.4 mm and a blade width of 8 mm are required for removal.
