Volkswagen Golf Mk7 Service & Repair Manual: Removing and installing C-pillar trim, estate

Using removal lever -80-200-, this page covers removing the Volkswagen Golf Mk7 estate C-pillar trim on the left side (right is similar) — starting with the D-pillar trim.

  Note
Removal and installation are described for the left vehicle side. Follow same instructions for the right side as appropriate.

Removing

Removing and installing C-pillar trim, estate

–  Remove D-pillar trim → Chapter.
–  Remove wheel housing trim → Chapter.
–  Only release luggage compartment side trim in area of C-pillar, D-pillar and rear side window. Do not remove it completely.
–  Unclip C-pillar trim -1- in area of retaining clips -2- from body mountings using removal lever -80 - 200-.
–  Unclip C-pillar trim from retaining clips -3-.
–  Remove C-pillar trim downwards -arrow-.
 
Installing
  Note
  •   Before installing, check all fasteners for damage and renew if necessary.
  •   Remove any retaining clips -2- left in body mountings using removal tool -T40280- and fit them in C-pillar trim for installation.
  •   Following installation, ensure that the C-pillar trim is positioned in door seal beading.
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
