Fig. 231 shows the engine compartment fuse layout for the Volkswagen Golf Mk7. As with the dash-panel table, this covers the customer-relevant fuses — this page explains how to read the location and fuse-number columns together.

First read and observe the introductory information and safety warnings

The table shows the fuse locations for the items of electrical equipment which are most relevant to the customer. The left column contains the location, the other columns contain the fuse designs, the amp rating and the consumer.

    What circuits do the Golf Mk7 engine bay fuses protect?
    Higher-current circuits such as the radiator fan, ABS module, headlights, fuel pump and engine management — systems that draw more power than the dashboard fuses handle.

    Yes. The engine bay uses both flat-blade fuses and larger JCASE fuses. They require different pulling tools — the plastic pliers work for both.
